GOD's DEACONS
Content:
Title “ God’s deacons “
“In the New Testament, the word usually translated "serve" is the Greek word diakoneo, which literally means "through the dirt." It refers to an attendant, a waiter, or one who ministers to another. From this word we get the English word “deacon.” We first see the word "deacon" used this way in the book of Acts. “And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, "It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables” (Acts 6:2). The men who were giving themselves to feeding the flock by preaching and teaching realized that it wasn’t right for them to leave those activities to wait tables, so they found some other men who were willing to serve, and put them in place to minister to the church’s physical needs while the elders or pastors ministered to their spiritual needs. It was a better use of the resources they were given, and a better use of everyone’s gifts. It also got more people involved in serving and helping one another.
Today, for the biblical church, these roles are essentially the same. Elders and pastors are to “preach the word…reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2), and deacons are to be appointed to take care of everything else. In a modern church, this might include taking on administrative or organizational tasks, ushering, being responsible for building maintenance, or volunteering to be the church treasurer. It depends on the need and the gifts of the available men.
The responsibilities of a deacon are not clearly listed or outlined; they are assumed to be everything that does not include the duties of an elder or pastor, which is to preach, teach, and exhort. But qualifications for a deacon’s character are clearly outlined in Scripture. They are to be blameless, the husband of one wife, a good household manager, respectable, honest, not addicted to alcohol, and not greedy (1 Timothy 3:8-12). According to the Word, the office of deacon is an honor and a blessing. “For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 3:13).”
I am sure that we are carrying in some form or another in church . This is one aspect of being a deacon.
However the World is our church and we are called on to be deacons led by the Holy Spirit appointed by the most high God himself. Destined to a work by him before we were born. The day we encountered him and felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in us that is when we were entrusted with this magnificent, flawless and holy plan .
Prayer :
Let us be the bridge of peace and hope in conflicts
Lets us be deacons that set examples at home
Let us be deacons that set examples in the work place

Acts 10:3
One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”

Spiritual guide for wary decisions
The first documented decision that was led by the Holy sprit. The appointment of Matthias
Acts 1:23-26
So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.
“Notes: let the Holy Spirit be a deciding factor in all our decisions . Let the Holy Spirit be the director of our votes .
If there our two ways and you need to decide . Pray and then cast Lots . The Holy Spirit will show the right path.
Lots cast can be in outcomes expected.
Sometimes it may not only be your prayer that counts , but a prayer of many others that can influence the outcome of the casting of Lots.
Eg my mums prayer that I may always prosper helps Lots cast for me to result in an outcome for my benefit in a life g term basis . ( My position in Unit 2 in Gynae in AIIMS) “
“How do you cast Lots with prayer to the Holy Spirit
- decision to move from South Africa. Lots cast were if only O get substantial we will not move but if both me na my wife get substantial then we will move
- Decision on children’s school. Prayer was to stick to the school where both are given admission the first instance .
The quality of a leader is to choose wisely . The Holy Spirit will help you to be the best Leader . Lean on his deciins always “

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.
