TRANSFORMED MIND FOR TERRITORIAL TRANSFORMATION – Part LV
The Realisation of God’s Promises
Romans 12:1-2 - “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
2 Peter 1:2-4 - “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
Numbers 23:19 - “God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Romans 4:16-22 - “Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
TWO-SIDED FULFILLMENT:
1. What Is Required of God (His Role)
2. What Is Required of Man (Our Response)
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF GOD (and He never fails to do):
1. Initiating the Promise
God is the source of the promise.
Abraham did not invent the idea of becoming a father of nations—God declared it.
“...that it might be according to grace...” (v16)
2. Calling What Doesn’t Exist
God speaks realities into being, even before they are visible.
He defines truth by His word, not by appearances.
“...calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” (v17)
3. Giving Life to the Dead
God brings resurrection power to dead situations—wombs, dreams, timelines, or people.
“God... gives life to the dead...” (v17)
4. Providing Grace
The promise is accessed through grace, not merit.
God sets the stage so that faith, not performance, is what qualifies us.
“...that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law…” (v16)
5. Performing What He Promised
God fulfills what He speaks. He is responsible for the manifestation, not just the declaration.
“…what He had promised He was also able to perform.” (v21)
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF MAN (for the promise to be realised):
1. Faith – Choosing to Believe Beyond Natural Evidence
Abraham believed against hope—he trusted when it made no earthly sense.
> “Who, contrary to hope, in hope believed…” (v18)
2. Focus – Not Considering the Deadness of the Situation
He did not focus on Sarah’s womb or his aging body as obstacles.
> “…did not consider his own body, already dead… nor the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” (v19)
3. Resilience – Not Wavering in Doubt
Abraham didn’t bounce between faith and doubt. He stood firm, despite delay.
> “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief…” (v20)
4. Worship – Giving Glory to God While Waiting
Instead of frustration, Abraham praised God—this strengthens faith.
> “…but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.” (v20)
5. Conviction – Being Fully Persuaded
Faith wasn't just an idea—it was a settled conviction that God would do it.
> “…being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” (v21)
> God is responsible for the outcome. Man is responsible for the posture.
Where do you imitate God for the promise to come past?
📖 *Ephesians 5:1 *(NKJV)
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.”
In the context of Romans 4:16–22, where Abraham believes and receives the promise, we see that Abraham imitates the nature of God in several key ways—and this is where breakthrough happens.
🔁 Where You Imitate God for the Promise to Come to Pass:
1. You Imitate God in How You Speak
> “…who calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” – Romans 4:17
Just like God speaks realities into being, you imitate Him by:
Speaking in alignment with His promise even when there’s no evidence.
Refusing to speak death, doubt, or despair.
🗣️ Imitation = Prophetic Confession
Speak what He has said, not what you see.
> Proverbs 18:21: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”
2. You Imitate God in Faith-Filled Vision
God sees the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).
Abraham imitated this by believing he was “father of many nations” before Isaac was born.
👁️ Imitation = Seeing with spiritual eyes
You must see the unseen and hold it as true before it manifests.
> “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1
3. You Imitate God in Creative Authority
In Genesis, God creates by speaking, ordering, and naming.
Abraham imitates this by naming his son Isaac (laughter) in agreement with God’s instruction.
✏️ Imitation = Calling, Naming, Framing
You participate in the promise by speaking and ordering your life to match it.
> “God formed the world by His word…” – Hebrews 11:3
4. You Imitate God in Patience and Endurance
God is long-suffering, yet unshaken. Abraham imitated God by not wavering through delay.
🕰️ Imitation = Endurance without panic
You must not just believe once—you must keep believing over time.
> “Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” – Hebrews 6:12
5. You Imitate God in Giving Glory Before the Outcome
Just as God rejoices in His works before completion, Abraham gave glory to God before seeing the promise fulfilled.
🎵 Imitation = Worship in advance
Your praise in the middle imitates God’s confidence in His own word.
> “He was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.” – Romans 4:20
6. You Imitate God in Being Fully Persuaded
God never second-guesses Himself. Abraham imitates this divine confidence by becoming “fully persuaded.”
🧠 Imitation = Settled conviction, not wishful thinking
You must remove plan B and rest in God’s integrity.
> “Let God be true and every man a liar.” – Romans 3:4
> You don't imitate God to manipulate the promise— You imitate Him because you’ve become like Him through relationship. And when you act like your Father, the atmosphere around you begins to reflect the same creative and redemptive power that brings promises into reality.
