Psalm 63:1 - ‘O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.’
Key Text:
John 6:66-69
" From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
If you love history and study leadership you may know the story of Cortés and the burning of his ships.
In the year 1519, Hernán Cortés arrived in the New World with six hundred men and, upon arrival, made history by destroying his ships.
This sent a clear message to his men: THERE IS NO TURNING BACK!
Two years later, he succeeded in his conquest of the Aztec empire. They had ZERO options but to win the war.
Lesson learnt:
By burning the ships (removing any other options) we become fully committed to following Christ.
Context:
Where else can we go for we have found Jesus the one who has eternal life and we have come to know He is the Christ.

Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
