ITS GO TIME

Power Thursday: Its Go Time.

Matthew 28:18-20

18Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The Great Commission was given by Jesus right after the resurrection—a powerful victory through His death on the cross over sin and all the curses that come with it, as promised. His resurrection serves as the receipt/proof that it was indeed accomplished!

Right after that, Jesus commissioned His followers to go. We in MAGH have been pregnant in the spirit with such anointing and revelation. It is no accident that we are here in MAGH, soaking in His presence every single day—receiving revelations through different anointed men leading devotions and intercessions by the Holy Spirit.

We are called for such a time as this—to be vessels through whom God can cry out and release His power, deliverance, grace, salvation, healing, and righteousness in this land where darkness is overtaking—for His glory.

Let us unpack the Great Commission:

1.      First, knowing Jesus Christ through the Bible, in light of the Holy Spirit, will catapult us into going—marching in obedience, surrender, and boldness to His call in our lives.

18Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:18-19

To execute orders with boldness and confidence, you must know who is sending you and what level of authority He holds. Jesus fulfilled all the promises of Scripture and declared that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him.

His name is far above every other name, power, principality, and dominion.

In short, if we are not making disciples of all nations, it simply means we have not yet reached the level of awareness and understanding of who Jesus is and who we are in Him.

Knowing Christ—the Hope of Glory, Prince of Peace, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, the Word who was with God and was God from the beginning—He is the Great I Am, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matthew 16:15-19

15Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?”

16Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. 18Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. 19And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

In this passage, Jesus proclaims that upon the revelation of the Holy Spirit—of who He is—He will build His ecclesia, His government. And the gates of hell will not prevail against it. He continues to declare the authority that is unlocked through revelation revealed by the Holy Spirit and believed by Peter.

Philippians 2:9-11

9Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor

and gave him the name above all other names,

10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.

Colossians 2:14-15

14He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

What are the idols in our hearts that need to be destroyed, so we may fully see and receive the revelation of Jesus Christ? This revelation unlocks a life of surrender, obedience, love, compassion, power, and authority—for us to GO!

Prayer: Father, examine our hearts and remove anything enthroned other than You. Through Your Holy Spirit, help us stay spiritually aware of who Jesus is, that we may be filled with His love, boldness, compassion, power, and authority. Let it compel us to go in obedience—occupying the land You have prepared for us and making disciples of all nations for Your glory. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

2.      To teach new disciples, we must be equipped and rooted in obedience to His teachings through the Word of God by the Holy Spirit. He assures us that He will be with us always, until the end of the age.

Matthew 28:20

20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

We need to be rooted in Jesus’ teachings by meditating on and studying the Word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to help us understand who God is and reveal His secrets in the heavenly realm.

1 Corinthians 2:10-12

10But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. 11No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. 12And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

The power of Jesus teachings in His word are powerful and alive that can unleash life changing encounters of healing, deliverance, salvation and love when we believe and obey.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Joshua 1:8-9

8Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. 9This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

The promise is clear: that when we do what He ask, He will be with us till the end of age. A guarantee that He got are backs when we step in surrender and prioritize His will over our lives. May it be finances, carer, family, relationships, children, marriage, health and all other things that concerns us He will supply according to His riches and glory when you surrender to His will.

Hebrews 13: 5

5Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,

“I will never fail you.

I will never abandon you.”

Matthew 6:33

33Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Philippians 4:19

19And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 41:10

10Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.

Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you.

I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Like Abraham, you bring your Issac and the wood and He will provide the sacrifice. In such a time as these may we as men of God will be like Isaiah that will say to the Lord “ send me!” (Isaiah 6:8). Have a conviction of the of Esther that we will declare that iam following Jesus, if I perish, I perish. A deep conviction and courage of our faith that is founded of knowing who are God is and who we are in Him.

Revelation 12:11

11And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb

and by their testimony.

And they did not love their lives so much

that they were afraid to die.

I don’t know what GO will look like to you. It could be saying no to the flesh or compromise, or maybe starting that disciple group, planting a church, launching a ministry or business that God plants in your heart.

It might be starting a family bible study, starting your personal bible study and prayer, inviting a neighbour or a co-worker, forgiving a brother or friend, surrendering your addictions.  whatever it may look like make a decision today.

Surrender and see how God will elevate you in heights that you have not reach yet in Jesus.

Prayer: Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit will compel me study and meditate in Your word that I may be faithful to obey it. So that I can teach and disciple others that will follow You according to Your word and promises that they will also grow in the fullness of Christ. May I have a deep conviction and courage with my faith in Jesus that I won’t be swayed by the demands of this world and its persecutions knowing that You, Jesus will not forsake me and be with me until the end of age. In Jesus name. Amen!
