THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 16:13-15

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

The Holy Spirit is a member of the Godhead and bears witness of God and Jesus Christ. He is the source of personal testimony and revelation. He guides us in our decisions and protects us from physical and spiritual danger. He is known as the Comforter, and He can calm our fears and fill us with hope. In order to serve effectively as Royal Priests we must learn to listen to and submit to the will of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit speaks to us with absolute truth and absolute authority. He finds a way for us when we cannot see a path. He assures us when we are confused.

Romans 8:26-27

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

The fact that the Holy Spirit works with divine power, we have to completely remove our limited capacity of what we think is possible through the works of the Holy Spirit.

In the time and space I am in today, the Holy Spirit has guided me with assurance to be calm and rest in Gods sovereign plan for my family.

There is a sense of peace and the price for that is faith and time spent in prayer to my Heavenly Father. This is a faith that doesn’t require understanding on my part.

Consider a baby in its parents arms. Can the baby know anything! It is cared for by loving parents for its life. Yet it has no control.

Now consider our Heavenly Father looking at His beloved children. Does He need our understanding of His ways?

We must come to our Lord as babies with an unknowing faith that He loves us and we are cherished by Him infinitely more than we of our own children.

The Holy Spirit has been very clear with His instructions.
Put your worry and concerns aside and give thanks and praise to your Holy Father. Do you think that anything in your life surprises Him. Is He not sovereign?

The Holy Spirit reminds me that everything I do in my life should be for the Glory of God. Everything that happens in my life is for the glory of God

Prayer point 1

Holy Spirit, may I continually seek your guidance and follow your promptings. I cherish Your presence in my life as the most sacred of gifts.

John 14:15-18

If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

How to hear from the Holy Spirit

Find a place of silence away from all distractions.
When we find the secret place, He is there and will reveal Gods purpose for our lives.
We must listen closely and learn to still our minds to the chaos in our lives.
Meditate on the Word to seek revelation and understanding.
Elevate the name of Jesus and always give glory to God.
There is a demand for our time and prayer in order to unlock the power and revelations the Holy Spirit has in store for us.

Make a habit of turning to the Holy Spirit for guidance with everything we do in our lives no matter how simple.
Let us fully submit to His will with every turn. In this way we fully submit to the will of God, and that is what our Father wants from us.

Prayer Point 2

Holy Spirit I pray that each and every day I find a secret place to honour and worship my Lord Jesus and Holy Father. Let me turn to you in all ways.

The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

1Corinthians 12:1-11

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills..

From this passage we see distinct spiritual gifts as;
  1. Word of wisdom
  2. Word of knowledge
  3. Gift of faith
  4. Gift of healing
  5. Working of miracles
  6. Prophecy
  7. Distinguishing between spirits
  8. Speaking in tongues
  9. Interpreting tongues

Please take a moment to view these amazing gifts that are offered by the Holy Spirit. These are awaiting us when we strive earnestly in prayer and supplication.

Especially for me, my faith has increased beyond my understanding. There is an elevation of peace and assurance and I know it is because I have elevated Jesus in my life. The Holy Spirit takes great joy in this as we are commanded to edify our Lord Jesus in all our prayers. I have felt this and this is how the Holy Spirit leads me today.

Scriptures To Meditate On

Genesis 1:2

The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Luke 1:35

And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

Romans 8:11

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

1 Corinthians 2:11

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Prayer Point 3

God of all creation, I come to you today asking that Your Holy Spirit will draw me to You as I delight in Your presence. Help me to be willing to pay the price with the way I conduct myself as a royal representative of Your kingdom. Above all, help me to remember all that You have provided because of Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary’s cross. It’s fellowship I seek with You every day, and I long to go deeper every day with You. Bless me in all things today, as I seek to be a blessing to others. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.
