Luke 5:17 - 26
17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
24 So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
NKJV - 18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. 19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.

5. The case
- The paralysed man on a mat / bed
- How did he decide and allow the 4 men to carry him?
- Precepts:1) Faith Hebrew 11:1 1Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.2) He refused this burden of paralysis Genesis 27:40 40 You will live by your sword and you will serve your brother. But when you break loose, you will throw his load off your back.”
6. The four men
- The four men that carried the paralysed man on a mat knew something to be able to agree that they will carry this paralysed man.
- They had two types of knowledge 1) The spiritual knowledge and the 2) The physical knowledge
- The spiritual knowledge of Faith, the spiritual knowledge of agreement, the spiritual knowledge of unity, the spiritual knowledge of location/direction, the spiritual knowledge endurance/perseverance, the spiritual knowledge of acceleration, spiritual knowledge of watching, spiritual knowledge of healing
- The physical knowledge of agreement, unity, speaking life, the 4 corners and lifting, the roof was an option and they could remove it, diligently hoisting the man in the middle of the crowd but yet in front of Jesus
7. The journey
a) The paralysed man – Sometimes the enemy wants to paralyse you spiritually and physically. Which manifests as delay, slowness, lack of progress, defeat, sickness, loss of hope.
Prayer point 2: We are going to refuse every York, burden, stagnation in the Name of Jesus.
b). The presence of the 4 men in our life’s to carry us. Some of us are perishing because are lacking the 4th man / the 4 men with knowledge to journey with us
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego were 4. They carried each other in the incense of prayer, When the three were thrown in the fire. The holy spirit was the 4th man in that fire.
Acts 12:12
Prayer point 3: Lord position me well with the right men in all my dealings please bring forth my destiny helpers.

c) The men kept moving forward to where Jesus was
- As the four men are carrying you forward. Keep declaring at all times.
Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp for my feet.
I will not die, I will not perish, the Word of the lord is like a strong tower
- Sometimes you might be too paralysed the 4 men will need to speak ife.
d) The lifting. The 4 men lifted the paralysed men. There was strength, stamina, coordination, power, agility and tenacity.
What kind of strength is this?
Lord I need this strength ?
Examples: Joshua lifting the hands of Moses
John 16:12 - 13 - 12 “I still have many things to say to you. You are not strong enough to understand them now. 13 The Holy Spirit is coming. He will lead you into all truth. He will not speak His Own words. He will speak what He hears. He will tell you of things to come. 14 He will honor Me. He will receive what is Mine and will tell it to you.
Ephesians 6:10 – 11- 10 This is the last thing I want to say: Be strong with the Lord’s strength. 11 Put on the things God gives you to fight with.
Ephesian 6: 18 - 18 You must pray at all times as the Holy Spirit leads you to pray. Pray for the things that are needed. You must watch and keep on praying. Remember to pray for all Christians. 19 Pray for me also. Pray that I might open my mouth without fear
Upward movement – Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Prayer point 4: Lord give me strength to be above the paralysis, the chaos, the unforgiveness, the waiting.
e) The four men broke the room, scanned well and hoisted the man carefully in the middle and infront of Jesus and then watched.
- As you surrender the issue to the Lord be still keep and keep trusting.
Exodus 14: 14 – Be still and know that am God
Philippians 4:6 Don’t be anxious about anything by prayer and supplication make your request know.
- The other men kept watch – Keep pressing in that situation.
f) The paralysed man carefully releases inside the crowd and in the presence of Jesus.
- No matter the problem keep dwelling in the house of the Lord.
Prayer point 5: - Prayer for direction for the 4th men to locate well in the journey.
g) Finally, because of your faith
- Stand.
- Keep your faith to stand when you have the knowledge of faith from paralysis to standing. A remarkable thing!
Prayer point 6: To see well in the spirit as I watch for the remarkable thing!
Conclusions
- From paralysis to standing. A remarkable thing!
- From attack to triumph!
- A remarkable thing ! to have men!
- A remarkable thing ! to be alive in Christ
- A remarkable thing to start the day in prayer!
- A remarkable thing to have MAGH!
- A remarkable thing to have the Holyspirit !
- A remarkable thing to have to keep moving forward and upward in the battle.
- A remarkable thing to have to say in Jesus name it is done!
