Stepping into gates part 20: Asking the right questions!

1. Pre-sermon declarations
* Psalms 118:24: This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
* Greetings, thanksgiving, acknowledgement.
* Today – I would like to thank God for the word he released to each men, the sharing, the encouragement, it has been awesome to me.
* The enemy tried but we have been holding on – on to Gods word.

2. Prayer point 1🔥
- Nasema asante
- Thanksgiving and Adoration
- Good standing with the Lord

3. Introduction:
- Thank you gentlemen for holding on, the obedience, consistency and for the fear of God.
- My assignment this morning is to wrap up the series on stepping into gates.
- This is a word the Lord gave me when I questioned several things and not just once but severally.
- I went into this questioning mode- Why was I born in this family, why did this happen, why did this person come to my life, why I am earning this salary etc
- The biggest one was how from here?
- Then God gave me a dream walking, several gates, roads, staircases, some good roads, rough roads, I woke up and drew the dream and everything
- If you can remember – cross roads, remarkable, the king has still many moves etc
- I began reading his word, fasting, praying, sometimes chasing thousands by praying with many man

4. - What is a question?
- Its to inquire about something, for action to be installed

- In the bible, we have many instances questions are asked starting from Genesis to Revelation.

- Even God asked questions, Jesus asked questions, the devil, has perfected this art by questioning even Jesus, eve etc

5. Fire scriptures

- Nehemiah 1:1-11 (Nehemiah’s Prayer)

Nehemiah 1:1-11 NIV

> [1] The words of Nehemiah son of Hakaliah: In the month of Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, [2] Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

> [3] They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace.

> The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.”

> [4] When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

> [5] Then I said: “Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments,
> [6] let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.
> [7] We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.
> [8] “Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations,
> [9] but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.’
> [10] “They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand.
> [11] Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” I was cupbearer to the king.

6. Lessons from Nehemiah before rebuilding
- He questioned the status
- Not for gossip but for action
- He sat down wept, mourned, fasted, prayed
- He then came with a word to God. This word is questioning but, in a dialogue, – his actually conversing with God taking back his word to him
- Confession
- He captures Gods attention
- Ask for favour ahead of the action he plans to take.

7. Reflection and Prayer point 2🔥
- What is it that you need to question this morning?
- Reflect on it, bring it to the Lord
- Tell the Lord – I bring this issue to you, I don’t like the situation and thus handing it over to you.

8. Prayer point 3🔥
- We are going to ask forgiveness – it could be your fault or not but we shall step into the gap as men after Gods heart. This is one of our mandates to fix things
- The prodigal son – questioned his initial move and had to go back and ask for forgiveness

9. Prayer point 4🔥
- Ask for favour
- In the action plan
- The presence
- Is very important – Gods presence
- Moses realised this revelation – I won’t go without your presence
- Jonah tried something that he ended up regretting

10. Question and enquire in the spirit

John 16:13:
> 12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Acts 2:4:
> “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 14:2:
> “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.” (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 14:4:
> “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.” (NKJV)

Romans 8:26:
> “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (NKJV)

Romans 8:27:
> “The Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (NIV)

Jude 20:
