God told Moses to send 12 leaders to spy out the Promised Land. The land was fruitful — just as God said. But 10 spies focused on the giants and said:
“We can’t go up against them!” (Num 13:31 NLT)
They even said,
“We felt like grasshoppers…” (v33)
Only Joshua and Caleb said:
“Let’s go at once… we can certainly conquer it!” (v30)
Same land.
Same giants.
Different mindset.
The land had no ceiling.
But 10 men placed a ceiling over their minds.
🔥 Personal Testimony
Recently we were on a short family trip down south in Busselton. One morning during a beach walk and devotion time, I asked the Lord what He wanted us to focus on this year.
I sensed Him say:
“Trust in Me and Walk With Me.”
As I reflected on that, I noticed footprints in the sand from people walking their dogs.
Right there, I felt a revelation — God desires a daily walk with us. Not a rushed relationship. Not a crisis-only prayer life. But consistent, surrendered, step-by-step trust.
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV):
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
TPT says:
“Trust in the Lord completely… become intimate with Him in whatever you do…”
The 10 spies leaned on their own understanding.
Joshua and Caleb leaned on covenant.
Men without ceilings walk with God daily — even when they don’t understand the details.
🧠1. Break the Grasshopper Mentality
The spies said:
“We felt like grasshoppers.”
Notice — the giants didn’t call them that.
They labelled themselves.
Defeat started in their minds.
Romans 12:2 — “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
A ceiling in your thinking becomes a ceiling in your life.
If you think small, you live small.
If you think like a son, you inherit.
⚔️ 2. Obedience Is Agreement
Obedience isn’t just going where God sends you.
It’s agreeing with what He says.
The 10 saw obstacles.
The 2 saw opportunity.
Men without ceilings:
* Trust fully
* Obey quickly
* Speak faith
* Move forward

Lord, I choose to trust You completely. I will not lean on my own understanding. Teach me to walk with You daily.
