ONE FRUIT MANY ATTRIBUTES
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
1. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is one package. While it's true that each Christlike attribute is distinct, Scripture refers to them as a united, singular “fruit.".
John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
2. A Spirit-led life is not measured by the circumstances surrounding a person, but by the fruit produced through them in the midst of those circumstances. Among the nine fruits of the Spirit, longsuffering stands out as particularly remarkable because it is often most evident when life is challenging.
Every one of these attributes, including "longsuffering", is a healthy experience for us to go through. "Against such, there is no law."
II Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
James 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
3. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is a complete package.
All the outcomes we will ever need in this life is wrapped up in the fruit.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
II Corinthians 3:5-6 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
4. King David was a man after God's heart who lived long enough and produced the fruit of the Spirit.
David's eyes was always fixed on the ball no matter his circumstance.
Psalms 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
