YOUR VOICE MATTERS
Proverbs 15:4
“The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit."
Wise, kind, and healing words provide life, comfort, and strength to others, much like a nourishing tree gives shade and fruit.
What you speak is more than sound, it can bring life, encouragement, faith and hope into someone’s situation. God has given us a voice, and He desires that we use it to speak words that reflect His heart.
This world is filled with negative voices: fear, doubt, discouragement. But as followers of Christ, we are called to be a different voice.
Declaration
Father, thank You for giving me a voice. Help me to use it wisely. Let my words bring life, hope, encouragement and truth. Give me courage to speak when You want me to speak and wisdom to know when to remain silent. May my voice point people toward Jesus and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your voice can speak faith when others speak fear.
Your voice can speak hope when someone feels hopeless.
Your voice can speak encouragement when someone wants to give up.
Your voice can speak truth when confusion surrounds someone.
Colossians 4:6
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."
How you speak to others should show grace and wisdom.
Speak life over your family.
Encourage a friend.
Pray with someone who is struggling.
Share your testimony.
And most importantly, speak about Jesus.
Your voice matters because God can use your words to change someone’s day, strengthen someone’s faith, and point someone’s heart back to Him.
“Your voice has a purpose”
God can use your experiences, testimony, encouragement and even your struggles to speak life into others.
Proverbs 18:21
“The tongue has the power of life and death.”
Never underestimate what God can do through a willing voice.
“Speak when God says speak”
There is a difference between speaking because you have something to say and speaking because God has given you something to say
Is this from God?
Is it consistent with His Word?
Will it bring truth, encouragement or correction?
Are we speaking with love?
“Don’t allow fear to silence you”
Moses felt inadequate. L
As we read the story of Moses
Exodus 3-4
Burning bush encounter-Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh? (3-11)
I am slow of speech and tongue (4-10)
God’s answer was “I will be with you”
When surrendered to God, your voice can become a light that helps someone find their way back to him.
Timothy needed encouragement
2 Timothy 1:7:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Your qualification is not perfection. Your qualification is obedience.
“Your testimony is powerful”
Psalm 107:2
“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.”
You don’t have to know everything to tell someone what God has done in your life.
Someone may never read a Bible, but they may listen to your story.
“Your life should speak as loudly as your words”
Standing for truth isn’t only about what we say. It is about how we live.
When the world sees integrity, forgiveness, compassion, holiness, faithfulness and love in us, our lives become a testimony to the truth we proclaim.
Declaration
Lord, give me the courage to speak when You tell me to speak, the wisdom to know what to say, and the humility to know when to remain silent. Let my words carry Your love, truth and grace. Remove fear and insecurity from my heart. Use my voice to encourage the discouraged, strengthen the weak, bring hope to the hopeless and point them to Jesus. May I never remain silent when You have called me to speak. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your voice matters, but even more importantly, make sure your voice carries His heart.
God Bless
