Topic:  3 STRATEGIES FOR ADVANCEMENT AND EFFECTIVENESS  IN GOD’S KINGDOM

Content:

 *STRATEGY #1 – FIGHT*

- We are told in the bible to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12)
- We are told in the bible that we are not fighting against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12)

*What does it take to be in the fight?*
- It was the fight in Moses that brought out the leader in him
- It was the fight in Gideon that exposed his insecurities and allowed him to overcome his inadequacies
- It was the fight of Samson that brought the Gaza gates and the Philistines down
- It was the fight in Esther that brought her into authority and positional advantage in the palace of the king
- The fight of Joseph that made him become 2nd in command, despite all he had faced
- It is the fight in us as men, that separates us and distinguishes us, allowing us to stand our ground when the vicissitudes of life are against us.

*STRATEGY #2 – FLEE*

Your effectiveness and advancement in the kingdom is determined by what you flee.

The bible says, “Flee youthful lusts.” – 2 Tim 2:22

In every male there is a KID, there is a MAN, and there is a KING

Balancing those three on the fulcrum of life is important. If you do not know how to bring out the King, you remain a KID and you could end up losing the dreams and the calling you are destined for.

In every male there is a KID, the kid in me, wants to play with toys, the kid in me wants to play with fire. As a man, my responsibility is to know when I can be a kid, and when I must put away my toys and not suppress the KING in me. Because it is possible to live my life without direction and purpose.

Joseph taught us much about the principle of fleeing. It is not every time you fight. The bible says to flee all sorts of temptation.

The bible says to abstain, to flee from all forms of evil.
What are areas in your life that you are compromising on? Sometimes as men, we tend to think we are invincible, that we are macho men, and we can handle anything, NO WE CANNOT, Joseph FLED.

Psalm 1 tells us that, “Blessed in the man that does not stand in the counsel of the ungodly.

There are men that have found themselves caught up in gambling, because they told themselves that first night, they would only play with $100.

That $100, cost them their lives, cost them their marriages.
That $100 birthed a desire, which then birthed lust, and out of that lust, deception grew.  Money which was supposed to be spent on school fees and household bills now was feeding a temptation.

Flee from anything that will distract you, flee  from negative voices
There was a man that used to be among the tombs, who continually cut himself.  We need to stop cutting ourselves as men and flee from anything that will kill the call of God on our lives.

*STRATEGY #3 – RESIST*
- Your resistance to the devil is determined by how prepared you are to submit to God.

The bible tells us, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:7-8)

Resist the devil. Resist being put in a position of compromise that waters down the great calling of God on your life.
Resist the cultural and social norms that say, “Everybody is doing it.” Stand your ground.

*There are things to FLEE*
*There are things to RESIST*
