Topic: PROCESS: THE GAP BETWEEN THE PROPHECY AND THE PROMISE
Content:
*Hebrews 6:13-15*
PROCESS is spelt P.A.T.I.E.N.C.E
*Hebrews 6:13-15* - “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying, “*Surely blessing I will bless you*, and multiplying I will multiply you.” 15 And so, *after he had patiently endured*, *he obtained the promise*.”
There will always be seasons in a believer’s life where God will prove you to prune every tendency that can destroy and abort your glorious future. This is the hardest phase in the transition between the prophecy and obtaining the promise.
If you don’t understand the purpose of this season, you’ll waste this period of time and never will realise the destiny that was spoken over your life.
*What is the assignment of process in your life?*
1. *Tests loyalty and commitment to fulfilling destiny*. How determined are you to see the spoken Word of God come to pass in your life?
*Luke 9:62* - “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Prayer Points:
*Prayer Point 1*
Father, I receive the power and strength to persevere in the face of testing and proving.
2. *Builds patience in you*.
*James 1:2-4* - “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 *_knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience_*. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
*Failure to be patient lead to abortion of promise.*
*Isaiah 43:1-2* - “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. *_When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned_*, nor shall the flame scorch you.”
The assignment of fire is to consume everything that is not of God and cannot be removed by water. Fire will burn pride, arrogance, the carnal nature etc.
When you ask the anointing to fight and it is not fighting certain things in your life, it may be that the anointing will not and cannot fight God, as God is behind the fire purifying all that is ungodly in you.
*Prayer Point 2*
Father, I receive the grace to allow Your work to be perfected in me. Help me reject every tendency that may want to hurry and take shortcuts to Your promises.
3. *Helps you to honour and appreciate people who have obtained the promise*.
God allows us to pass through the seasons of process so that we will not downplay results when we see them. We live in a world where it is easy to be an armchair critic, judging players on the field of play.
*2 Corinthians 25-27* - “Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 *_in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness_*…”
There’s an experience you go through during the process of waiting that helps you sustain the greatness of success. God does this so that, no matter the level of your lifting, the memory of what you went through will keep you humble.
*Prayer Point 3*
Father, help me put to death the tendency to be judgemental and critical. I receive the grace to appreciate the grace and sacrifice necessary to obtain my promise.
