Topic: WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING, BOB?
Content:
*Psalm 127:1* - “*Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it*; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”
*Reflections*
1. Everyone is a builder. Everyone is building.
2. Without the Divine Architect and Master Builder, labour in building is mere activity in vain.
3. For effective build, co-labouring with God is commanded.
4. There is a spiritual build, and a physical build. Everything is built twice. The spiritual precedes the physical.
5. There is a universal dependence on God in human undertakings.
*Proverbs 3:5-6* - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Prayer Points:
*Prayer Point 1*
Father, lead me as I build the [ ] you have assigned to me or giving me responsibility to oversee. I acknowledge You for my life, for health, for strength, for practical wisdom, for the disposition to continue the work You have assigned to me and for success in it IJN
*Reflections*
1. Who’s blueprint or plan are you using to build?
2. What is your priority? Are you focusing on what’s meaningful?
3. Are you mindful of the materials you are building with?
*1 Corinthians 3:12-13* - “Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.”
*Prayer Point 2*
Father, help me to build according to Your pattern and blueprint.
*Nehemiah 4:7-9* - “But Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the men from Ashdod were very angry. They heard that the people continued working on the walls of Jerusalem. They heard the people were repairing the holes in the wall. 8 *So all these men got together and made plans against Jerusalem. They planned to stir up trouble against Jerusalem. They planned to come and fight against the city. 9 But we prayed to our God. And we put guards on the walls to watch day and night so that we could be ready to meet them*.”
*Reflections*
1. Are you aware of forces that may want to destroy what are you are building?
2. Have you counted the cost before starting to build?
3. Has your building ‘project’ stalled?
*1 John 5:4* - “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
*Psalm 127:1* - “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; *unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.*”
*Prayer Point 3*
Father, as I co-labour with you, no weapon formed or fashioned against me shall prosper. As what You have assigned to me to build is of God, I declare it overcomes the world IJN.
