Topic:  THE SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK

Content:

There are many reasons we pray which include praying to edify ourselves, praying to hear from God, praying for others, and praying for our coummunities. However, one of the very important reasons we pray is for our lives to bear the fruits of His instructions and the guidance we get from God every now and then. We will spend much time in this session praying for the evidence of the fruits of His word in our lives. Psalms 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Since last Monday to yesterday Saturday, we have been receiving so much insights from God but how much of all these revelations are distilled from our spirit, which is always willing to receive from God, into our physical senses, transforming our lives to become what the builder and maker intends.

James 1:22-25
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

 PRAYER POINT

We pray for the effectiveness of the word of God we receive from this platform; we see the fruits in our lives. We
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Romans 7:21-25
I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

PRAYER POINT
Lord , set me free from the stronghold of death, and deliver me from the stronghold of the flesh.
John 6:63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Our willingness in the spirit is not the end game God is seeking for us, neither is he seeking a static state of wishfulness from us. The truth of our engagement with God is for the demostration of His glory; such that we prosper in all things. Areas in our lives that are in bad shape, giving us sleepless nights, are not from God.  We don't just fold our hands an accept the anormally but to pray.

III John 1:1-4
The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

John identified a gap in the life of elder Gaius and had to pray about it. Reading from 3 John 1-3, we see that elder Gaius was a committed Christian, a man of truth, a brother that others testified of his good works. However, there was a disparity between the prosperity of his soul and the conditions of some aspects of elder Gaius' life that were not glorius including the state of his poor health.

PRAYER POINT
We pray that God's glory shines over all areas in our lives. Our set time to arise and shine is now. We resist the activity of the devil over our lives. James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
