Topic:  GOODNESS & MERCY

Content:

*Psalm 23:6* - “*Surely goodness* and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

*Reflections*
1. Goodness and mercy are results of what the Psalmist stated in verses 1-5 of chapter 23.

2. To get these results you have to allow The Shepherd to be your *Pilot* and to stay in His *Presence.*

3. ‘Goodness’ speaks of unrivalled divine excellence. In *Genesis 1:3* - Then God said, Let there be light, and there was light. And God saw the light, *that it was good*!

4. ‘*Goodness*’ speaks of an attribute of God Himself. (*Psalm 86:5* - “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.”

5. To submit to God’s wisdom, you have to understand His goodness.

Prayer Points:

 *Prayer Point 1*

Father, according to 1 Thessalonians 5:18, in everything I give thanks to You: for this is Your will in Christ Jesus concerning me. I thank you for choosing me in Christ before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and without blame before You in love.

*Psalm 23:6* - “*Surely* goodness and *mercy* shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

*Reflections*
1. The *mercy* of God reflects His unparalleled kindness bestowed upon Man instead of judgement. This suggests the Divine’s lovingkindness in condescending to the needs (mercy) of his creatures. Ref. Genesis 3

2. Titus 3:4-6 “But when the kindness and the love of *God* our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, *but according to His mercy He saved us*, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the *Holy Spirit*, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through *Jesus Christ our Savior*,”

*Prayer Point 2*
Father, I thank You for the assignment of mercy that rescued me from eternal judgment and caused me to come boldly to the throne of grace to find help in time of need. [Declare the help you need IJN]

*Psalm 23:6* - “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and *I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.*”

*Reflections*
1. The report card of ‘*Goodness and Mercy*’ is that you live the atmosphere of heaven while residing here on earth. The same life God ordained for Man before the Fall which Christ Jesus came to demonstrate to us - to reign and rule here on earth: a life of dominion.

2. Eternal dwelling in the Presence is the endgame of God shepherding man.

*Prayer Point 3*
Father, I receive the grace to dwell in Your presence for ever IJN.

*The Communion*
You cannot celebrate the goodness and mercy of the Lord without remembering the communion.

The symbol of the bread and the wine is God’s way of reminding us that the price for our redemption has been paid and we are now adopted into His family with full rights and privileges.

*Matthew 26:26* - “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
[30/5/2023, 05:38:49] ~ Oluranti Adeniyi: *Matthew 16:18-19*
And I tell you, you are Peter *"MAGH"*, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. "

Thank you Lord, for great is Thy faithfulness
