Topic:  THE DAY OF ANOINTING

Content:

For the 365 days in a year, there is a day for something to be recognised. A day in which the world's attention is drawn to a particular subject to give it the importance the issue deserves. We hear of Women's Day, Water Day, Coffee Day, and even Jeans for Genes Day. There is wisdom in numbering our days so that certain important life issues do not fall through the cracks. Today, I want to draw our attention to the workings of the Holy Spirit in and within us.

*Our Unifier*
I Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body — whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free — and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
Ephesians 4:3
Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of the Spirit in the binding power of peace.
David understood the importance of honouring and respecting the anointing upon others through the bond of peace. David had two opportunities to kill King Saul, who was after his life, but in both instances, he declined because He knew Saul carried the same anointing that he David also had upon himself.
Do not weaken the bonding by the Holy Spirit because it is the anointing of the Holy Spirit you cherish and respect that works for you.
Psalms 105:15
...Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.

Prayer Points:

 PRAYER

Let's appreciate the Holy Spirit for bringing us together with one heart.
Romans 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who was given to us.

*Our Empowerment*
Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

We do not want to be weak Christians because that is not who we truly are. We are what God says we are and not our situations defining us. We ought to take charge of whatever circumstances through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. An empowerment comes from the anointing if you choose to engage Him in your down moments or confused state.

Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

PRAYER
Holy Spirit, I recognise the empowerment that comes from you. Please help me always to engage you in all my circumstances.

*Destroys Yokes*
Isaiah 10:27
It shall come to pass that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

Some age-long problems in our lives seem not to go. There are mountains that are proving difficult to move. Some family traits persist. We can observe those traits in our children. There may be illnesses in our bodies that are sitting tight. But because of the honour and recognition we give to the Holy Spirit, those yokes have to give way in the name of Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 51:20-24
King James Version
20 Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;

21 And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;
