(Exodus 33:20-22 ESV.) "But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live. And the LORD said, “Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by.”  

(1 Corinthians 10:4) “..For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.

The Rock of ages cleft for us. There is something about this Rock that makes it a place of refuge and Strength.

Psalm 18:2 “ The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

 

When you think about the Rock, here are some of the things that comes to your mind?

Pillar :- Exodus 13:21 "The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire."

Refuge :- Isaiah 25:4 "For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.."

Strength :- Psalm 46:1  "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Courage & Confidence :-Hebrew 13:6 "So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

Foundation :- 2 Timothy 2:19 "But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,..” 

 

That’s who our God is for us. May we always remember Him whenever we’re faced with any challenge.

 

(Isaiah 40:29) "He gives strength to the weary, And to the one who lacks might He increases power."

If you have ever failed in anything or seen people fall or walk away from personal consecration or devotion to the Lord, the only logical reason for that is in their lack of strength.

(Proverbs 24:10). "If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.

 

A we head into the last half of the year with His strength in the inner man

 

Prayer Point 2: Ephesians 3:16 "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.."

 

Our weakness becomes strength when we surrenders them to God:  Joel 3:10 "Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!”

Hebrews 11:33 “ By faith these people overthrew kingdoms...They shut the mouths of lions..quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness.”

We see this picture of Jacob painted in Hebrews 11:21 "It was by faith that Jacob, when he was old and dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff."

 

Prayer Point 3: Lets Lean in to God grace with a posture of Thanksgiving and heart of worship Like Jacob
