Acts 1:8, Says. You shall receive Power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea, Samaria and to the End of the Earth. 

 

Reading this bible verse gives the impression that the Holy Spirit role is only to give us Power to help us in our Ministries. Though this is true, the holy spirit is much more than just power. The Holy spirit is a Person.

 

Yes, the Holy spirit is God also, but my emphasis this morning is on His attributes as a Person. 

 

The Holy spirit has full attributes of a Person. The list of his attributes as a Person is quiet long. But I will just give a few examples.

 

1. The Holy Spirit has a Will:  1 Corinthians 12:11 Says but the one and the same spirit works all these things as he will. The Holy Spirit need full control of our will if he should work with us for the Glory of Our Lord Jesus. Our will want to take us this way the Holy spirit another. But God does not override our will. So, to work with the Holy spirit we must completely surrender our will to Him.

 

David said I have taken and oath and confirmed it that I will that I will follow your righteous Laws. Psalms 119:106

 

2. He Speaks. Acts 8: 29. The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk long besides the Chariot.

 

3. He has Knowledge- He know and teaches the things of God, John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit who the Father will send in my name, he will teach you of all things and bring to your remembrance all the things that I said to you.

 

4. He has ability to Love-Romans 15: 30. Now I beg you brothers, through the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Love of the Holy Spirit that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me ………

 

5. He can be grieved Ephesians 4:30- Paul writing to caution the Ephesians saying “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

 

This simply means that is possible for our action can either grieve the Holy Spirit or that He can rejoice with us when our actions please him. 

 

2Corinthians 13: 14 Reads, May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy spirit be with you all. Emphasised fellowship of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person, so we can have fellowship with Him.

 

 

The Greek work Koinonia Translated fellowship in English, also means Communion, Partnership and Participation. We can have fellowship with the Holy spirit. He is a Person.

 

 It is through fellowship with the Holy Spirit that we can really Know the Will of the Father for our Ministries, our Families etc. 

 It is through fellowship with the. Holy spirit that our Ministries will prosper and bear much fruit.

 

 Our Ministries could grow beyond our expectations if we understood how to cooperate and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

 

 

A look at the Ministry our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

The ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ grew because He was anointed with Holy Spirit. 

 

Acts 10:38 says, How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the holy spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil because God was with him.

 

Mathew 15:30 Great crowds Followed him, bringing the lame the blind and the crippled, the mute and many others and laid them at his feet and he healed them.

 

Our Lord Jesus gave us this commission in Mathew 10:8, “Heal the sick, Raise the dead cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received freely give”.

 

John 14: 12 says. Very Truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing and they will do even greater thins than these because I’m going to the father.

 

It’s a man who will completely surrender to the will of Holy Spirt, a man who will decide to cooperate and fellowship with the Holy spirit, a man who will let the Holy Spirit have his way in him, a man who will completely yield to the Holy Spirit, it’s a man like this who will do the greater things our Lord Jesus Christ mentioned.

 

There is a man on this platform who will so fully submit to the Holy spirit, that that greater works our Lord Jesus mentioned will follow him. 

 

 

Paul said, I did not come with eloquent speech but with the demonstration of the power of the spirit. This word is in need not of eloquent speakers but men full of the Holy Spirit and Power. 

 

 

All of creation is groaning for the revealing of Sons. Romans 8:19. This generation is groaning for the sons of God to be revealed.

 

Arise and shine for your light has come and the Glory of the Lord rises upon you. Isaiah 60:1

 

The Harvest is Truly plentiful, but the workers are few,

 

When the Holy spirit show up in our lives, he wants to do things his way and turn our Ministries around, but we must be fully submitted and surrendered to him.

 

When the River of life which is the Holy Spirit flows in you and though you, even your shadow will fall of the sick and they shall be healed.

 

2nd Prayer Point

 

Colossians 1:9 For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
