Topic:  SANCTIFIED BY THE WORD

Content:

Some synonyms of sanctify are purify, cleanse, free from sin, absolve, unburden, redeem and refreshment. Sanctification is the process by which we are shifted from a lower position to a higher position. An important prayer Jesus made for His disciples before His crucifixion was in John 17:17, which says sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says but we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The Bible is replete with scriptures that show us that sanctification through the Word results in a shift in our situations for good. My pastor will repeatedly tell us that all things we ever need in life is wrapped up in the Word; go for the Word. He is not alone in that revelation. In Psalm 119:105, David says God's Word is a lamp unto his feet and a light unto his path. In Job 23:12, Job said he esteemed the words from God's mouth more than his necessary food.

How much do you cherish God's Word that can sanctify you and change your situations for good?
God commanded Joshua that the book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8.

Abraham received the Word of the Lord saying get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. Genesis 12:1-4

A timely Word from God I received during my trying times is in Hebrews 11:8-10 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

The Word of God you receive that sits in your spirit is what works for you. Because that Word sits in your spirit and carries you on the journey, you may begin to act in ways that people start to question your rationality. Success is guaranteed in God's Word as it will not return to Him void but will accomplish what it has been sent for. Humanly speaking, Joseph disrespected his brothers and was naive by sharing his God-given vision with his brothers, but his destiny was never truncated. He was sold to slavery and imprisoned, which were preparatory experiences and pathways to his kingship. In Joseph's trying times, the Word he received continued to sanctify him until he arrived at his destiny.

Be positioned to receive the Word. Seek to be sanctified by God's Word. The Word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
