Topic: REFLECTING ON HUMILITY
Content:
*Definition of humility* : freedom from pride and arrogance ( __having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities_ )
The second word is a reflection of a lack of knowledge as alluded in *Hosea 4:6.*
Lack of knowledge in the realm of health can result in sickness and death. But, the most dangerous lack of knowledge is the lack of knowledge of God's will for man. It results in eternal damnation
Jesus promised us Holy Spirit to be our mentor. He said in *John 14:16NLT* And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
Our prayer today is that God reveals that which is hidden and lacking in our hearts that we may be conquerors in all faculties of life, as Men, brothers, husbands, and friends.
Today, we will pray over humility but guided by *three characters* in the word of God. Two of the characters are a summary of how we are destroyed, & caused to die by the devil due to lack of Humility, while the third is how we ought to live and continue be more than conquerors
Prayer Points:
*First Prayer Point:*
*Destroying the King Nebuchadnezzar in us: Daniel 4:22, 29 - 31*
22. That tree, Your Majesty, is you. For you have grown strong and great; your greatness reaches up to heaven, and your rule to the ends of the earth. 28-31.- Twelve months later, he was taking a walk on the flat roof of the royal palace in Babylon. As he looked out across the city, he said, ‘Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendour.’ “While these words were still in his mouth, a voice called down from heaven, ‘O King Nebuchadnezzar, this message is for you! You are no longer ruler of this kingdom."
>>The point to all this, as was to the King, was to learn that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of the world and gives them to anyone he chooses. *Daniel 4:32*
*Second Prayer point:*
*Disabling a Eutychus mind in us : Acts 20:8-12NLT*
The upstairs room where we met was lighted with many flickering lamps. As Paul spoke on and on, a young man named Eutychus, sitting on the windowsill, became very drowsy. Finally, he fell sound asleep and dropped three stories to his death below. Paul went down, bent over him, and took him into his arms. “Don’t worry,” he said, “he’s alive!” Then they all went back upstairs, shared in the Lord’s Supper, and ate together. Paul continued talking to them until dawn, and then he left. Meanwhile, the young man was taken home alive and well, and everyone was greatly relieved."
>>Do we sometimes feel tired, drawn attention by other things, or think that maybe we have better things to do than being present before God. Lack of sacrifice for more time to God, in either service, prayer, soaking into the word or low moments. We need to resist other *flickering lights* around us and focus on the cross.
I believe that “ *Time is the definition of everything in life* ”. Use it wisely for God’s glory.
*Third prayer point:*
*Building a Christ-like humbleness: Philippians 2:5â€-‬9 NLT*
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the *name above all other names,*
*Ending*
Glory be to God Almighty, now and forever. May we seek humility that we may not lack knowledge.
