Topic:  THREE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT JESUS CAME TO DO

Content:

It should impress on us the enormous sacrifice Jesus Christ made on our behalf such that the manifestations of the devil's works cannot be tolerated in our lives. Jesus Christ, who was in an exalted place in heaven, descended from heaven, took the form of a man just for your very sake. What Jesus did is to release us from every curse and oppression of the devil so that we may have eternal life, which begins here on earth.

Just like king Jehoshaphat, who was cornered in a war by the enemy soldiers, and he cried out to God for help, and God moved the enemy soldiers to depart from him, so we will pray to God for His divine intervention in the face of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on our behalf.

1. Jesus Christ came into our lives to destroy the devil's works.

One of the effects of the devil's work is to bring destruction in all aspects of people's lives, but Jesus Christ came to displace and reverse the works of the enemy.

*For if by the one man's offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17*

*how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38*

Prayer Points:

Prayer: Lord, because we have given our lives to you, every work of the devil in our lives be destroyed in Jesus Christ's name.

2. Jesus Christ came into our lives for us to enjoy life. Anything contrary to this suggests we are not appropriating His sacrifice to the fullest.

*But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquity. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53:5*

*The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10*

Prayer: Lord, we stir up your life within us to completely obliterate every work of the devil stealing our joy.

3. Jesus Christ came to bring us into fellowship with divinity.

We have been brought into oneness and friendship with God. But from time to time, the devil wants to distract us with the cares and worries of life such that our focus is more on our canal nature than the divine presence of God with us.

*as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. II Peter 1:3-4*

*that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; they also may be one in Us, and the world may believe You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: John 17:21-22*

Prayer: The glory of your divine nature shines through me.
