The new often holds new challenges and peplexities, some more dramatic and chaotic than others. But if we bring keen awareness to events and difficulties both large and small, we can often see in them spiritual transitions as well and come to embrace the larger meaning hidden in these life movements.

 

Transitions can be painful, but please don't hold on to the past, no room for comfort zones.

 

How can we ease transitions.

 

1. Stop being Resistant!  Don't try to hold onto what's drifting from you. Whatever is leaving is making room for something new to emerge.

 

2. Listen! The art of listening will make transitions effortless. The ancient religions now how to listen through Confucian discipline. Please don't be all over the place .

 

King David remains a pattern for us when it comes to understanding the seasons of transitions.

 

1. Cave .

 

2. City.

 

3.Country.

 

The Cave was where David started understanding purpose and pursuit. He was all over the place running from the enemy, but he suddenly realized the need to make a transition. 

 

He chose the Cave of Adullam. 1st Samuel 22, was the birthing of David's transition to the highest level of authority and kingship.

 

The City, after the transition birthing experience at the cave, it was time to transition to the next level. David chose the City of Hebron. 2nd Samuel 2.

 

The next transition was incubated from the city. In that city, David kept consolidating, suddenly external and internal factors moved David to the next C in his life. The people came and anointed David king over the country of Israel. 2nd Samuel 5.

 

David wasn't just on a transition, every transition experience birthed a consolidation for him. From Shiloh to Jerusalem was a consolidation. From the cave to the city further consolidation, then city to country was amazing consolidation.

 

These principles can be applied to every area of our lives.

 

May we not be resistant to seasons of transitions.

 

May we learn to listen. Listening is an art.

Oh Lord please remove every flux from our eyes and wax in our ears. Undull our ears .Matthew 13 vs 15.

 

Oh Lord remove every resistance to seasons of transitions in our lives. Remove the captivity of traditions . Mark 7 vs 13.

 

Oh Lord help us to constantly inquire from you, what and when is the next transition is all about. David epitomized the culture of inquisition.

 

Oh Lord help us to move in the multiple dimensions of the spirit. I coined an acronym for this. It is called (MDOTS).
