Topic: IN THIS WAY: WINNING ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL
Content:
*1 John 5:14-15* - “This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that *if we ask anything according to His will*, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.
And if we know [for a fact, as indeed we do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that *we have [granted to us] the requests which we have asked from Him*.”
*Exodus 17:8-16* - “The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Pick out some men to *go and fight the Amalekites* tomorrow. I will stand on top of the hill holding the stick that God told me to carry.” 10 Joshua did as Moses commanded him and went out to fight the Amalekites, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

11 *As long as* Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning. 12 When Moses' arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down.

13 *In this way* Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites. 14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write an account of this victory, so that it will be remembered. Tell Joshua that I will completely destroy the Amalekites.” 15 Moses built an altar and named it “The Lord is my Banner.” 16 He said, “Hold high the banner of the Lord! The Lord will continue to fight against the Amalekites forever!”

*Reflections*
Though God’s will was that He would completely destroy the Amalekites, any of the following possibilities could have prevented Israel from having victory:
1. *Neglect of physical principles*
The Israelites refused to fight (skilfully and with intention) when the Amalekites came and attacked them at Rephidim.

2. *Non-compliance with spiritual principles (mostly because they hardly make sense)*
Moses did not recognise the significance of raising the stick and the correlation between his obedience and the Israelites winning on the battlefield.

3. *Violation of people principle*
Moses, without foresight and discernment, chose to go to the top of the hill alone, without destiny helpers and skilled people.
4. *Ignorance of functional principles*
Moses did not recognise reality and accept help to sit on a stone and his hands held up by his associates (other priests).
5. *Disobedience of God’s instructions*
If Joshua refused to obey God’s instructions given through His servant Moses.
Prayer Points:
*Prayer Point 1*

Father, the scripture declares that “If we *ask ANYTHING according to HIS WILL*, we have the requests which we asked from Him.” Help me to align my requests with Your kingdom plan and purpose. Let faith arise in me to possess all that You have for me IJN.
*Prayer Point 2*
Father, I receive the grace to not violate any principle necessary and sufficient for my winning on the battlefield of life, in ministry, and in the marketplace IJN.
*Prayer Point 3*
Father, the scripture declares that “Wisdom is the principal thing; and *Christ has been made the wisdom of God unto us*,” I activate the wisdom to know the will of God, and the discernment necessary to excel in every area of life, ministry and the marketplace IJN.
