Content:
Faith is the open door to the supernatural and the only way to access the heavenly gate by knowing Him.
- God’s inheritance comes to us by faith.
o To have the inheritance we need to spiritually grow in aggressive faith.
With God we will gain victory and He will tramp down on our enemies Psalms 60:12.
Where do you get this faith from?
Romans 10 :17 – Faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through word of Christ.
Remember faith is like a muscle and needs to be exercised. Our struggle is not against the flesh and blood but the principalities of darkness – Ephesians 6:12.
How do you overcome the principalities of darkness?
I have told you these things, so that in me (Jesus) you may have the peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33)
He has given us victory in all areas of Life. Romans 8:11 (The spirit which rose Jesus is in me, will give life to your mortal bodies)
Faith Heroes List:
Daniel 6:6; Daniel was found praying to God when nation he was living in passed an evil edict.
Daniel’s passion for God and fervent faith sustained him during those days.
Remember 2000 years ago, Jesus made us free by His death and resurrection signed in His precious blood, Romans 10:8 and 1 Peter 2:24 – He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness by His wounds you have been healed.
GROWING IN FAITH
Eph 4: 13 – Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become more mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Faith is the principle ingredient needed to grow into the stature God wants us. It is imperative for this to happen, a generation of believers to expand their faith by depending upon one and only true source and that is ‘Intimacy with our heavenly Father.’
Three principles of growing in Faith
1. Reaching unity in Faith
2. Growing in the knowledge of His presence
3. Coming into the stature of the perfect man and this attaining the fullness of Christ
1. Reaching unity in the faith
a. God not impressed by our eloquent prayers.
b. God requires our contrite spirit and Faith.
i. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you desires of your hearts (Psalm 37:4)
ii. And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make strong, firm and steadfast (1 Peter 5:10)
c. FAITH IS CANVAS SAIL FOR OUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
2. Growing in the knowledge of the Son of God
God has given us such authority to put enemy in its place and we are reminded of scripture:
Psalms 91:13-14 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion, and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because He has set His love upon me, therefore I will deliver him, I will set him on high because he has known My name.’
Sign of trust is you saying ‘God, I trust you and I believe in you.’
Matt 6: 33, 34: Seek first the kingdom and His righteousness and all things shall be given to you; therefore, do not worry about tomorrow.
That is mark of trusting in His word.
Why should be grow?
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has entrusted with much, much more will be asked – Luke 12:48
God expects our growth to be blessing to others its not for own glory, whether its our knowledge, skills, business, relationships etc.
How does that growth occur?
God will be building a strong relationship with the Holy Spirt once you have stepped into that phase.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons .. will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8: 38-39
3. Coming into the Stature of the perfect man and attaining the fullness of Christ
Progressive and transforming process in which the human character becomes the Character of Christ is what we are talking about coming into the stature of perfect man.
How do we get that?
Acts 2: 42 – 47
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Why should we get to that perfect stature?
It is indispensable to grow into the character of Christ so that our attitude can have a transforming influence on everything around us, so that we can truly have a different standard which in likeness of the image of Christ.
Think about it – why do missionaries willing to give up their successful careers and go to remote parts of the world to preach and get persecuted. (Hudson Taylor, John Wesley, Wilhem Wilberforce etc)
- Why do successful people take a bold stand for righteousness and justice, hold firm what is the biblical definition of marriage? (Margaret Court, Australian Christian Party, Scott Morrison etc)
- Why do people setup businesses and want to steward people under them and build them into Sheep nations? (David Hodgson etc)
We cannot be the light of the world if we do not have oil in our lamps. We need fresh filling of oil and keep the altar fire burning to make change into His likeness.
Refer Acts 2:1-2 About the dwelling in the presence of God and how Holy Spirit came in as tongues of fire over people.
Communion of the Holy Spirit is represented as equivalent of the anointing.
We need to grow in the character of Christ to conquer the complete inheritance God has predestined for each one of us.
**Remember that we are co-heirs with Christ by His grace that He has made us ‘more than conquerors’ Romans 8:37,
So
What do we need to conclude to get into stature of the perfect man?
Just surrender to the Lord in the areas you think you need to surrender for Him to shape your life.
Your – desires, aims, ambitions, success, professions etc
