And shall be exalted above the hills;

Arts and Entertainment

 

Introduction 

 

The mountain of influence encompassing arts and entertainment includes television, movies, video games, magazines and books. 

 

Most of these means of entertainment find their way into every home, and they have a great influence on our culture. We have witnessed firsthand the power of media in our own homes from lives streaming channels, video games, YouTube and others. 

 

What we consume through our eyes and ears is what we will begin to believe and even act on. 

 

Through these channels of entertainment, messages about marriage, sex, family and politics are sent to every watching eye and listening ear. Their aim? To change our view of what is and is not acceptable in mainstream society.

Unfortunately the messages most often sent via these outlets are negative and ungodly. They instill fear, hate, violence, lust and sin into the hearts of people everywhere. 

 

The devil’s main agenda is to be worshipped. 

The two Scripture passages that describe Satan before he fell are Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-15. Satan was the “anointed cherub” (Ezekiel 28:14). He was adorned with every precious jewel imaginable (Ezekiel 28:13). He was “the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty” (Ezekiel 28:12b). Likely he was the highest of all angels. He was persuasive enough to convince one-third of the angels to join him in his rebellion (Revelation 12:4). Even after his fall from heaven, not even Michael the archangel dared to stand up to him without the Lord’s help (Jude 9). 

Satan fell because of pride. He did not like being “second best.” He wanted to be God: “You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain’” (Isaiah 14:13).

His main agenda is to get as men people worshiping him and going to hell with him but we stand against this plans IJN. 

 

• This is why we must pray for the pulling down of demonic entertainment and the uprising of Christ-centered television, games, books and magazines, and movies. 

• Through prayer, we must go to war against the blatant celebration of ungodly values and sin, and those who call evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).

• That means becoming strategic. One definition of strategic planning is “the process of determining long term goals and then identifying the best approach for achieving those goals.” 

• We must support and pray for the Christian media houses and individuals that are on top of the mountain of entertainment.

 

 

For the 7 Mountain message, it means: 

 

1. Knowing the heart of the Lord for reclaiming the mountaintops. 

2. Discerning the strategies Satan has used to establish and maintain his hold on the mountaintops. 

3. Coming into agreement with the strategy of the Lord for taking the mountain. What role does He have for us in recapturing the mountain or mountains to which we are called? For some of us the role is one of support, like the logistics and support units in the military. Others of us are to pursue a path up the mountain. Asking the Lord to show us the tactics He would have us use. Then we need to look and listen for His response.

 

 

1. Pray that the Bible will rise up as the standard for behavior and beliefs in our nation, and come against the forces of darkness that are permeating arts and entertainment. 

2. pray that Christians will rise up to become movie producers, magazine editors, authors, video game creators and actors. Pray that they will stand for righteousness and not be pulled down by the evil influences around them. 

3. Pray for a shift to righteousness in the entertainment world.  Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.

5. Let us pray against and bring down the strongman occupying arts and entertainment industries. Luke 11:21-22 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

6. Prophecy into the art and entertainment industries. Ezekiel 37:3-5 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.
