The gospel went from Israel to Europe and then to other parts of the world as we all know. Most of us were exposed to western theological principles of the bible. ( Thank God for this exposure and experience), but there's more to this. Western theology was vibrant at conception, it brought great Protestant values and principles of industry and hard work, it brought deliverance and sanity to societies,it brought genuine repentance. Century after century we started seeing the decline and erosion.
This season calls for another time of reformation. Hebrews 9:9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience— Hebrews 9:10 concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation. If this reformation is going to happen, then there must be a clean separation from the past, and way forward built on John Locke's concept of ( Tabula Rasa). Hebrews 8:13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
There's a need to sort out foundational issues as we approach the new year. Generational cycles, traits, traces and legacies must be looked into. Isaiah sums this up very well for us. Isaiah 58:12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. Isaiah 61:4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations. Locked in these scriptures are the four significant "Rs" of
1. Rebuild.
2. Raise.
3. Repair.
4. Raise.
There are things we can't afford to carry over to next year, for the sake of the next generation. Jeremiah 31:28 And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the Lord. Jeremiah 31:29 In those days they shall say no more: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’ Jeremiah 31:30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity; every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. Jeremiah 31:31 A New Covenant “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— Jeremiah 31:32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. Jeremiah 31:33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
I will cut it short here, maybe we can organise a physical face to face meeting before the end of the year.
