Content:

*John 1:6* - “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light that all through him might believe.”

A man not called, but sent from God.

*Jeremiah 1:5* - “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

*Spiritual Truths* about your assignment

Verse 1: “*There was a man sent from God, whose name was John*.”

1. Spiritual information about your mission and message can be provided to other spiritually-inclined individuals. Systems and institutions can either enhance or hinder your assignment.

- Information was given to Apostle John about John the Baptist. He knew he came to bear a witness of the Light.
- Information was given to John the Baptist about Jesus. He knew the signs that would point out Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:13).
- Information was given to Jesus about Nathaniel before he got to Christ (John 1:48).

*John 16:12-14* - “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; *for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you*.”

 2. Knowledge of who sent you is crucial, because the spirit world, the physical world, people, situations, challenges will always ask you two questions:

- “Who are you?” - Identity
- “Who sent you?” – Spiritual authority

3. Your ability as a spirit to relate to God, who is Spirit, is vital.

Prayer Points:

 *Prayer Point 1*

Father, there is nothing I desire more than knowing you more and more. Grant me the grace to keep my eyes focused on Jesus Christ. Help me bear witness of You - the Light.

Verse 7: “*This man came for a  witness, to bear witness of the Light that all through him might  believe*.”

1. Light is a thing which witnesses for itself, and carries its own evidence along with it; but to those who shut their eyes against the light or dwell in darkness, it is necessary there should be those that bear witness to it.
2. Every man coming into the world has the capacity to be a light.
3. Every man has the capacity to function like God.
4. Every man can know God and be intimate with Christ Jesus
5. Every man has capacity for greatness.
6. God can use other men to validate you – He can make men bear witness of you. Therefore, honour all men.

*Prayer Point 2*
Father, I pray that you will activate men You have prepared to bear witness of my assignment and destiny. These are men ready to herald you and bring you visibility.

*John 1:8-9* -  "He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was *the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world*.”

*Matthew 5:14-15* - “*You are the light of the world*. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and *it gives light to all who are in the house*.”

*Spiritual Truths*
1. God has made you to function like Him (Genesis 1:26).
2. The true Light, Jesus Christ, has made you light so that you can give light to all who are in the house.

*Prayer Point 3*
Father, let the Body of Christ rediscover her meaning, mission and message. Let believers truly be the light of the world, *a city on a hill that cannot be hidden*, giving light to all who are in the house.
