Topic: LIVING IN TWO WORLDS - ONE AT A TIME
Content:
You may have dual citizenship, but you can't live in two countries at the same time. So it is with the environment or atmosphere we operate in this world. There are two kingdoms operating in this world: that which is orchestrated by God's Kingdom and that which is ruled by satan. We can find the two opposing kingdoms in Colossians 1:12-13 Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy people) in the Light. [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
The general requirements of becoming a citizen of any nation are straightforward. But to be a partaker of God's Kingdom, while it may seem elusive, is freely available as promised in several scriptural verses.
Luke 22:29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me.
Luke 12:32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
God's Kingdom is not just a possibility or an abstract idea. It is our entitlement and could be a present-hour reality.
Some superimposing attributes of God's Kingdom:
- Romans 14:17 says that the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
- I Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.
- John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- Matthew 6:31-33 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
These are the everyday experiences of those who dwell in God's Kingdom.
As a dual citizen, you are empowered with the choice to live where you want to. This also applies to the atmosphere we create for ourselves to operate in and be influenced by in this world. The choices we make through our words and deeds determine the kingdom we operate from and are influenced by in this world. Faith can activate and superimpose God's Kingdom over our natural environment. Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. Just as countries will generally not permit transactions in foreign currencies, so without faith it is impossible to please God and activate His Kingdom over your life. Faith is the currency that superimposes the influence of God's Kingdom over our natural world.
It can be frustrating for a christian to live in the edge of these two kingdoms; transitioning between God's Kingdom and the kingdom of this world which satan rules. You are neither hot nor cold.
