God’s game-plan

1. Genesis 1:1 - “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

2. Satan and the third of the fallen angels banished from the third heaven and relegated to the second heaven.

3. Although Satan and his demonic forces had no legal right to inhabit the earth, they took residence there, wreaking havoc and causing destruction, because there was no one with legal right to protect it.

4. God decided to intervene. His game-plan was to create a being that will have His image and function like Him to protect the earth and have dominion on it.

5. This being is to be given legal rights and authority to rule and have dominion on earth on the behalf of the kingdom of God.

6. God had to make the environment suitable for this legal being to inhabit the earth.

7. Everything that God did from Day 1 to Day 6, He either spoke into being, made it or called it out of the earth in preparation for creation of man.

 

Genesis 1:2 - “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep..” Earth was under the oppression of darkness. The earth, once radiant with divine purpose, became formless and void.

 

Engaging Divine Patterns

 

I. Exodus 3:8-10 - So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey…9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

 

II. Romans 8:19-22 - “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God…21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from bondage of corruption into glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now.

 

III. Colossians 1:13 - “He has delivered us from the power [dominion] of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”

 

Deliver (rhuomai) - rhoo'-om-ahee - to draw to oneself, deliver from danger or destruction

 

IV. Matthew 4:16 - “The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”

 

Mantles don’t leave earth

V. 1 Kings 19:19; 2 Kings 2:12-13 - “So he [Elijah] departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him [Elisha]. 12 …He [Elisha] took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces. 13 He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him…”

 

How to Step into the Mantle of Dominion - Shutting down patterns of wickedness

 

A. Keen awareness of His Presence

Genesis 1:2-3 - “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

 

> The Holy Spirit supervises the Presence of God.

 

Psalms 139:7 - Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?

 

Acts 2:1-4 - “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

 

- Psalms 97:5 - “The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole of the whole earth.”

1 Corinthians 1:29 - “…that no flesh should glory in His presence.”

 

Presence = enduring awareness

 

> I have patiently waited to get your undivided attention. 

 

B. Knowledge of Prophetic Declaration

Genesis 1:2-3 - “Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”

 

Isaiah 55:10-11 - ““For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

 

Matthew 4:4 - “But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 6:11 - Give us this day our daily bread).

 

C. Activation of His Power By Faith (“The force that compels compliance”).
