I will walk by faith not by sight

1. Pre-sermon declarations

        Greetings

Psalms 118:24: This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalms 150:6: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

Leviticus 6:13 The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.

2. Fire scriptures:

-1 The 5:16 - 18 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

- 2 Cor 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

3. What is faith? Heb 11: 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

- Romans 10:17 - 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

- What is the WORD of God?

- The word of God is in the bible

- Ephesians 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

- Hebrews 4:12 - 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

- Where did the WORD come from?

John 1:2 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

- John 1:14 - 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

- What was the Word in the beginning in the book of Genesis.

- Genesis 1: 1 - 2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

-      We can see the WORD of God is Jesus in the book of John and the Holy spirit in Genesis.

What does Jesus say about himself?

John 14: 5 - 9

Jesus the Way to the Father

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.

The other dimension of God.

John 4:24 – God is spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 16:3 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

John 16:13 - 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

What does the Holy Spirit do for us?

Romans 8:26 - 27 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

How to activate faith is to walk by the WORD, the spirit, in prayer?

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

-      Praying in the spirit does miracles. Go into a prayer. Break the cycle

-      Walking by faith is walking with God, walking with Jesus, walking with the WORD of God, walking with the holy spirit, walking in obedience, walking in God’s love.

-      Walking by faith through the WORD of God is to accept Jesus he will do it, study the word of God, meditate the word of God to make it come alive. Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:2

-      Walking by faith is to raise a rejoice / praise or a thanksgiving in every season

-      Examples of walking by faith – Ruth to Naomi

-      Roman 8:28

-      All things work out for your good by trusting in the LORD. Walking by faith not by sight

Conclusions

-      Amen

-      Walk by faith not by sight. 2 Cor 5:7

-      I will be joyful and thankful in every season 1 Thes 5:16 - 18

Prayer Points:

 Prayer points

1.    Cast out doubt, anxiety and worry – Philippians 4:6 - 7

2.    Ask God for a vision when you want to walk by faith.

Proverbs 29: 18

-      KJVWhere there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

-      Niv Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

-      What is Wisdom?

Proverbs 8 22– 25 “Wisdom calls”

22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

Example: Solomon 1 Kings 3:10-15

10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. 11 So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. 13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 14 And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.” 15 Then Solomon awoke—and he realized it had been a dream.

3.    Strength in the waiting. Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

4.    Speak into the situation. Prophesy in that situation. In sickness, in your marriage, your work, the ministry.
