Philippians 3:12-16 - “Not that I have already obtained it [this goal of being Christlike] or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that [perfection] for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one things I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 

 

14 I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us stay true to what we have already attained.

 

Stages of Spiritual Evolution

1. Follow Me (Luke 9:23 - “Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”)

2. Be My disciple (Luke 14:27 - “And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple”)

3. Be My witness (Acts 22:15 - “For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.”)

4. Be transformed to My image (2 Corinthians 3:18 - “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”)

 

Living Purposefully

1. What are you pressing on toward? What are you pursuing? What is pursuing you?

2. There is a version of you that you are evolving into in order to fulfil your purpose, assignment, or the call on your life.
