Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
The message in this scripture says that all people are made in the image of God. We are reflections of Gods Glory and character. We have the ability to reflect his character in our love , patience, forgiveness, kindness and faithfulness. Our worth is not based on possessions, achievements or physical attractiveness instead it is based on being made in his image which gives us a reason to feel positive about ourselves.knowing that you are a person of worth helps us to Love God , know him personally and treat others as his image bearers. Being God's image-bearers means that every one of us has a specific and noble purpose , we are of great value to God,and we all need him.
Psalm 139:13-16
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
What we learn from this scripture is God had his direct hand in David’s creation whilst he was in his mother’s womb.
David knew his existence was valuable.
Nothing about him was unknown to God not what he has done or will do.
Its the same with each one of us
In the same way God-The Giver of Life
has a plan and purpose for each one of us
He has lovingly given each of us the remarkable gift of life. He has created us with a brain to think, emotions to feel, a human body and senses to experience the world, and the ability to be in a relationship with others. And even more importantly, God created us with the capacity to know Him.
Psalms 36:9-10
For with you is the fountain of Life .
10 Continue to love those who know you and to do good to those who are good.
Fountain of Life gives us a sense of fresh cleansing water giving life to our spiritual thirst. Jesus spoke of himself as living water that could quench thirst forever and give eternal life. When we repent of our sins and ask Jesus for forgiveness, we receive this never ending supply of life giving water through the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship,created in Christ Jesus for good works , which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
We are Gods masterpiece. He works powerfully in us.If God considers us his masterpiece we are not to treat ourselves and others with disrespect or as inferior work.
God has already planned what he wants us to do with our lives. We do not need to be the same or copy what someone else has done or doing. He has a unique plan for each one of us to serve him. All we have to do is to pray and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in service to our Heavenly Father.
Testimony
After my deliverance from idol worship and my salvation at the age of 35 , I had come to know the truth that there is only one God and he is the giver of life.
THE FIRST IS ABOUT EXISTENCE
We were the chosen ones in our mother’s womb.
THE SECOND IS ABOUT PURPOSE
God knows the purpose and plans for our lives.
PRAYER
Thank God for he is the giver of life , he chose us for our existence
Help us Lord to live a life of purpose
Guide me and help me to grow into the person you want me to be rather than me following my own ways, purify my heart and make me more like you ,guide my path and help me take steps that will guide me towards your plan for my life.
Use us for the extension of your Kingdom
Give us wisdom and knowledge to reach out to the unsaved to bring your reality to their world
John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 6:35 - Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst
