BE A BLESSING

Content:

This is the day the Lord has made. We shall be glad and rejoice in it.

The Parable of The Good Samaritan

Luke 10:25-37

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”

So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”

And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

The Blessings From God

Thank you Father God for this new day. We sing thanks and praise to You, almighty one and count our blessings.
You are the great provider and through Your word, let us also be a blessing to others, IJN amen.

Dear men of MAGH, let us think of the blessings in our lives. Even if we are in the midst of challenges, struggles and seemingly impossible situations, we can find a sprout of God’s grace and mercies in our lives.

The gift of life, even when times are so dire that we would rather be dead. Each and every breath we take is that gift, taken for granted by us all at times.

Let us give thanks in the Spirit.

Be That Blessing

Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The challenge today is to be that gift, a blessing for others, to do God’s will in other’s lives.

To look outwards instead of belly gazing.
Becoming invisible to oneself and visible to others in need leaves very little wiggle room for selfishness, self pity or victim hood.

Can we reflect on how we go out of our way to be a blessing each day for others. Without any self righteousness if we can 😁

Let’s go above and beyond our normal duties as parents, friends, colleagues and spouses. Let us seek no reward except that we are fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives for others.

Testimony.

Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

I received a phone call from a dear friend on Saturday who I’ve known for over 30 years and his wife for over 40 years.

He said that things were not good and he may have leukaemia. They were both at QEII hospital and were awaiting test results.

After a brief conversation, I in turn waited for another call.
This came not long after it was confirmed that he had acute leukaemia (ALL).

I have a Haematology background and was relieved of the diagnosis as it has a very good post treatment remission rate in adults

Try making someone feel good about that though, especially a close friend or relative!

I prayed for my friend, his wife and family for strength, courage and a supernatural peace from God.

The scripture that dropped in the Spirit for me was that pertaining to Jairus’ daughter, specifically;

Mark 5:37

And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

Mark 5:40

And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying.

In was not until Sunday when I visited them perceived the relevance of this scripture in my friends life. I saw visible distress in her face and a strained look in his.

Par for the course noting the circumstances? Not quite.

The strain was coming from him being strong for well meaning, though “weeping and mourning” family and friends. He was exhausted from the effort.

I took a stand and quoted the scripture of Jairus’ daughter and advised them to only have warriors in their battle room. The rest may leave.

They were relieved to hear this stern instruction as it abated the guilt of closing ranks to concentrate on sustaining their own strength in this space.

I left them knowing that by doing Gods will, they were encouraged that things were going to be ok.

My friend was visibly lifted and hopeful. The confidence that my Holy Father instilled in me had transferred to him. Praise God.

**When we speak with the authentic assurance given by God, the environment transforms**

On Monday my friend had to undergo a bone marrow biopsy and he called me beforehand and asked for a pep-talk.

My friend was rolling in stitches by the end of the conversation and he laughed saying this was exactly what he needed to get through the process.

I was a blessing to my dear friend in need and I thanked God for the opportunity to be of service and was grateful of the outcome.

Mission Trip in Singapore

Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Our recent trip to Singapore to pray over the ASEAN nations was also one of obedience to serve others and pray for those whom I will probably never meet.

We prayed for the leaders,  the economy, education, for the emerging Christian churches and importantly Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs.

The local and international people we prayed with were encouraged and filled with the Spirit. I was personally blessed by others in thanks for being a prayer warrior for the nations.

Our prayers rose like incense and we knew that God would use them according to His will for His own purposes. We just had to stoke the furnace and place logs in the fire.

We were blessing the ASEAN nations with our prayers.

2 Chronicles 7:13-15

When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

Prayer Point 1.

We humble ourselves in Your presence and in that posture we ask Your Eyes and Ears are open to receive our prayers and answer as Your will.

Prayer Point 2.

Father God, use us as you will and may we continue to receive instructions in the Spirit to be of service to others. Lord grant us the wisdom to disciple others as we go forth to to help our neighbours IJN.

The IF And THEN Principle.

I have segwayedto this from a revelation whilst writing todays message.

Our Lord through His word has given us specific instructions that when are obeyed and carried out,
(the IF)  will unlock His promises, (the THEN).

IF (condition/action) and THEN ( promise/result)

Applied to Being a Blessing;

Isaiah 58:10

If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.

Ps Lakers.

This is the day the Lord has made. We shall be glad and rejoice in it.
