KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD
Content:
Priestly Blessing: Numbers 6:24-27 “The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace”
Praise God for His Blessings upon us as His own People. We have this blessings from God, not by merit but by inheritance. When God promised Abraham to Bless him and his generation after him, He was thinking of us. Gen 22:17.
There is something fragrant about the Blessings of God upon our lives. A bit like what Isaac felt about Jacob in
Gen 27:27 “…Surely, the smell of my son Is like the smell of a field Which the LORD has blessed.
As powerful as this blessings part is, it’s not the best part of the Priestly blessings.
Number 6:24 -“The Lord Bless you and Keep you..” This part introduces us to the Keeping power of God. “Kept by the power of God”
1 Peter 1:3-5 -“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope. 4.To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. 5.Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Who are kept (guarded) by the power of God.
When we speak about keeping we speak of guarding or watching over in other to ensure the safety of something or someone important.
- Scripture speaks of guarding our heart with all diligence as out of it comes the issues of life Prov 4:23
- Keeping yourself in the Love of God. Jude1:21
- He that keeps Isreal shall neither slumber nor sleep Ps 121:4 verse 5-6 said. “The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand, The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.”
- “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whosemind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You” -Isaiah 26:3
- “ …For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. 2Tim 1:12
- “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,” Jude 1:24
